Embracing Grace, Embracing Life

(Names and identifying details have been changed to protect client confidentiality.)

When Jessica first walked through our doors, she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders. Facing an unplanned pregnancy, she admitted she was looking for an abortion. As a hardworking young mom of two, already caring for a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old, she worried that another child would derail everything she had fought for.

Jessica had just reached a management position at her job and feared that a third baby would jeopardize her career and limit the future opportunities of her daughters. With almost no family support, her elderly grandmother being the only one who could help with childcare, she felt completely alone. The father of the baby was just a casual friend, and she doubted whether he would be involved at all.

During her visit, our team gently walked with her through her options, offered encouragement, and shared about resources available to her, including Embrace Grace. That same day she received an ultrasound and an Embrace Grace Love Box. At the time, there wasn’t an active group in our area—the box she received was actually a sample we had on hand. She left still undecided, but she carried home something she hadn’t felt when she walked in: hope.

Just a few weeks later, in August, God’s timing became clear. A local church launched the very first Embrace Grace group in our community, and Jessica showed up at the very first meeting. She has been faithfully attending ever since. At that very first session, she courageously shared with the group how abortion-minded she had been when she first came to our center, and how thankful she was to now have a safe, supportive community.

The transformation has been remarkable. Each week she not only receives encouragement and practical help, but she is also forming friendships and finding her confidence as a mother. In fact, during one of our expecting moms parenting classes, Jessica spoke up to encourage the other women:

“I wish all the ladies would do Embrace Grace—it’s so much fun and has already impacted me so much. And when it ends, I get to do Embrace Life next!”

We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Embrace Grace. Through it, we’ve seen clients like Jessica move from fear to joy, from isolation to community, and from uncertainty to hope.

This is why we do what we do.
